SHINee Onew Tops the Trend Index.
In the dynamic world of K-pop, the boy group individual trend index is a significant measure of the influence and popularity of individual group members. In a recent shift in the rankings, Onew, a member of the South Korean boy group SHINee, managed to secure the top spot. The achievement is particularly noteworthy as he overtook Jimin from BTS, who had been holding the position until now.
According to the latest data from Rankify, an organization that monitors and ranks trends in the K-pop world, Onew accumulated a total of 1,813 points. This was a notable increase of 1,087 points from the previous day, catapulting him into the top spot.
On the other hand, Jimin from BTS, who had been a consistent occupant of the top spot, ended up in second place with a total of 1,812 points. This reflected a drop of 41 points from the day before.
Following Onew and Jimin in the ranking were a host of other well-loved K-pop artists. The third to tenth places were filled by Mingyu of Seventeen, Sunwoo of The Boyz, Minho of SHINee, Jin of BTS, Jeonghan of Seventeen, Juyeon of The Boyz, Jungkook of BTS, and V of BTS.
The eleventh to twentieth spots featured a mix of established and rising stars. This included Taemin of SHINee, Yeonjun of Tomorrow X Together, Soobin of Tomorrow X Together, Wonwoo of Seventeen, Hoshi of Seventeen, Key of SHINee, S.Coups of Seventeen, Hyunjae of The Boyz, Younghoon of The Boyz, and Dokyeom of Seventeen.
Rankify also provided a gender preference analysis for the top three members in the ranking. Onew, who secured the first place, was favored by 28% male and 72% female. Jimin, who is now in second place, was favored by 12% male and 88% female. Seventeen’s Mingyu, who is in third place, was favored by 21% male and 79% female.
The recent reshuffling of the trend index, with Onew ousting Jimin to take the top spot, attracted considerable attention. The changes provide an interesting insight into the ever-evolving landscape of K-pop, reflecting the shifting preferences of fans and the growing influence of various artists.
